Karla S. George

Karla S. George is Deputy Director of the Family Law Project at the Bronx Family Justice Center for Sanctuary for Families, New York's leading service provider and advocate for survivors of domestic violence and other forms of gender violence. Karla represents victims of domestic violence in family and supreme courts in the Bronx. In addition, she conducts consultations at the Bronx Family Justice Center. As Deputy Director, Karla trains and supervises lawyers, support staff, and law students in representing survivors of domestic violence in complex litigation. Karla was previously the managing partner at Brown & George Law Group and served as litigation of counsel to many solo practitioners throughout New York and New Jersey. Karla is a graduate of St. John’s University and New York Law School. She earned her Juris Doctorate from New York Law School in 2010. Karla received her Bachelor of Science in Legal Studies in 2004 and a Master of Arts in Sociology in 2005 from St. John’s University.

 

Karla is an active member of many bar associations, including the American Bar Association and Bronx Women’s Bar Association. She is also a member of the New York State Bar Association, New Jersey State Bar Association, and Lawyers Committee Against Domestic Violence (“LCADV”).

Karla is duly admitted in New York.
