Josie Torielli, LCSW has worked with Interpersonal Violence since 2004. Her goal is to ensure that all people have access to expert and compassionate care following trauma. Of interest is work with communities, activism, supervision, development of professional self, macro-systems improvement, and the recognition of vicarious trauma. To relieve stress, she occasionally asks her colleagues to ‘dance it out’ with her. She is a terrible dancer.
Josie earned her BA from Syracuse University, her MSSW from Columbia University, and has completed post-graduate training in Advanced Trauma Treatment via the Institute for Contemporary Psychotherapy. Prior experience includes work with the NYC Alliance Against Sexual Assault, Training Institute for Mental Health, Institute for Contemporary Psychotherapy, Aldea Counseling Services, New York Presbyterian Hospital, Safe Horizon and The Long Island College Hospital. She currently works as a freelance consultant, advising on clinical practice, training initiatives, and best practice. She has maintained her own private therapy practice since 2009.
