Dr. Carolyn M. Springer

Carolyn M. Springer, Ph.D, an applied social psychologist, is an Associate Professor in the Gordon F. Derner School of Psychology at Adelphi University. On September 1, she became the Director of the Center for African, Black and Caribbean Studies. She has over twenty-five years of experience evaluating educational and health programs and has worked as a consultant for academic, government and health institutions; policy institutes and community based organizations. She conducts research on issues impacting women, low income and minority populations with a specific focus on maternal and child health; interpersonal violence; access to health care and health literacy and health communication and information seeking.
